“I would have helped him!”

This line really irritated me. I wasn’t bothered by Maya’s actions throughout the entire episode because I know denial/anger is a way of reacting/coping but when this line was said, I just got angry. I know Maya is only fourteen and has never dealt with this or probably anything similar in her life, and I know she’s immature because of her age - but she knew how sad Cam was.

She knew he didn’t like hockey.
She knew he was homesick like crazy.
She knew he jumped off of the catwalk on purpose.

Most of the verbal signs were there when she was around.
“I’m sad and I just want it to go away.”
“I just wanna be happy.”
“I’m not some loser who tries to hurt himself.”

So her saying she would have helped but “Cam never gave her the chance”… she had plenty of chances. She just didn’t take his depression seriously enough so she’s blaming that on him.. and that really bugs me for some reason.
